Upon Viewing a Vlog

For my vlog viewing assignment, I viewed a vlog called "Your Dress Would Look Better on Me," which is located at: http://betteronme.blogspot.com/.  A young man is recounting his experience at "Jesse James Days," a historic event in Northfield, MN.  One of the attractions of this event is a reenactment of a famous bank robbery, orchestrated by Mr. James himself, that took place in Northfield a long time ago.  The video that the author posted along with the text of this vlog was a clip of a portion of this reenactment.
The video included several men on horseback riding down the main street of town, toward the city bank.  Naturally, they were dressed in old western style clothing and the buildings were designed to convey that very same same wild west feeling.  But the most intriguing aspect of the video clip was the editing.  The poster of the vlog added a filter to the video to make it appear as though it was filmed on an old fashioned, low resolution, black and white video camera.  This technique gave the video a very authentic, nostalgic feel to it, as though it were actually filmed in the old western times.
The target audience of this particular vlog is difficult to interpret, as it is blending modern technology with historical events. As such, it would be safe to assume that this video would be be appreciated both by people with an interest in the history and culture of 19th Century Western America as well as contemporary minded individuals who enjoy the almost limitless possibilities offered by modern technology.
